  1. Just wanted to say hi and let you know that someone else has stopped in for a read. Also wanted to thank you for the visit to my site, and let you know that I will be coming back to see what you are up to in the future. Take care and I’ll see you then.

    • Thanks for taking the time to comment. I was just at your site looking around. I hope you get relief for your neck/hand soon.
Have a great day. I hope to have Lyme Journal entry 11 out soon. The last doctors visit was a game changer. I have a lot to write.
      Take care.

  2. Thanks for the heads-up, I didn’t know about this. Now we know, we need to start up something similar for mental illness. So many people dying on the streets, freezing to death on the sidewalks, dying in jails, being tazered on the streets, in airports, all because we look different sometimes and sometimes act differently, and sometimes we are outwardly “normal” but kill ourselves anyway because we can’t stand the pain. I want to eliminate HIV/AIDS from the world. I also want to raise consciousness that mental illness is a lethal disease. Whatare your thoughts?

    • Dear friend
I couldn’t agree more. It is sad to say in America there several celebrities/athletes have started campaigns Glenn Close has tried for years to call attention to mental illness, her sister is Bipolar and well as her brother. Her campaign has never picked up wind. There are a couple other large organizations how have tried to bring knowledge to the masses by television adverts but no dent. I think like HIV/AIDS when Bono started Red, it’s going to take someone with huge influence across borders who would die for the cause. I’ve only seen Bono with huge success bringing knowledge and dollars/partners to the forefront and making a huge impact. I don’t know the recent NAMI numbers but feel certain more people die from mental illness related deaths. At 51 y.o. I still don’t understand why we are in the stone ages with mental illness. There are people who contact me who think ECT is like the movie. As someone who has had over 20 ECT treatments over the years, it’s an easy as getting your teeth cleaned yet it can save your life. ECT has saved my life, most recent just last year.

      • Really wanna know my thoughts? I wish that instead of offing himself, Robin Williams would have come out as an advocate and campaigner. He could have done such good, but his pain overcame him and he couldn’t go on. I would be the last person to criticize him for having decided to bail out, but he was someone who could have turned the tide. Carrie Fisher has faded into the unknown, and she has had a couple of very public manic attacks which could work either way, depending on how you spin it. On the other hand, I think an organized grass roots campaign would really drive the message home.

      • Hello Friend,
I understand your hesitation to say out loud but you’re on the mark. I understand the grips of the darkness and suicide to well. I know no one can control when at that depth. He would have been able to make a difference if he choose that route. I don’t have any faith in Carrie Fisher, she likes to swim in places intentionally and them write/glamorize it. I think so many people are reluctant to speak out for fear of backlash to career. It’s an idea which needs a lot of thought as to who has the reach across all ponds to turn people on to learning and getting involved. No one comes to mind. There are groups who make an effort on WP but in reality don’t reach far outside of this blogging world. I know when I meet my husbands family like the second time, everyone was there and I talked about being mentally ill, the room cleared. I was contagious. I get on my box every opportunity. Even I don’t write as much about my mental illness as my abuse. Mental illness is a life long disease, overcoming abuse doesn’t have to be. Maybe we can throw some ideas around, not that magic will happen but no one has ever asked which tells me you are committed. Take care. Let’s both gives some thought and get back together.

      • Just occurred to me, we can start a Change.org campaign. Its open to anyone for free who wants to creation a petition. Maybe we could co sponsor a petition that will float across the pond.

      • Do you think efforts started in Israel now is a good time. Not that everyday is not a good time. There’s so much going on not sure it would get attn.

      • Much more going on in the news than in real life! The news reports in the West make it sound like there’s shooting in the streets. Stuff happens, but it’s sporadic and in the meantime, people are starving for real information about mental illness, domestic violence, homelessness, and other real-life stuff.

      • Can you do some research on who might be leading the cause or who the leading advocates are in Israel? I think we are talking about two different petitions to start. There is nothing wrong with hitting others countries and keep the ball rolling. I think along the way we might find the same group of advocates. That’s who we want to align with and learn from, then send out more petitions. I can send you all the info I have on Glen Close, her Charity, work she’s done and a list of other famous people alive and dead who suffer from mental illness. Maybe there is some contraction there. Let me know and I’ll email.

      • I’m in US and I have pulled together all the info I can on Glen Close’s efforts on Capitol Hill alongs with names of government supporters. We need to keep the target limited to so many people at one time. This could be a start and start another petition once more info is gathered. I don’t think we’ll get much steam trying to address the masses with a petition until time to sign.

      • The best place to start is with the people who are named in the article about Glen’s speaking engagement. There are names and states and enough info to start with. Then research will lead to more. I think more research is done on NAMI, what have they done, what names of people who support the effort can we find. Keep drilling down.

      • Hello freind
I am so out of it or can’t figure out how. My Lyme Disease is kicking my ass and thinking. If you can tell me how to do it that would help me significantly. Thanks. I’ve gathered more info on organizations who’s mission is to educate.

      • Sorry you’re feeling rubbish, to borrow a British term I love. Rubbish, I am also feel. I got really really triggered by my mother this morning and haven’t been able to shake it yet. Oh yes, I am heading for those evening meds like gangbusters! There are times when all I can do is sleep it off and hope I wake up feeling more balanced. xoxo
